πŸ’™βš“ The fridge magnet that started with a screaming match & became my gift to you

It wasn't meant to be a product.
It was meant to survive being thrown.

It was a Tuesday morning.

I was standing in the kitchen, coffee going cold, and my daughter was somewhere between rage and tears and I genuinely could not tell you which.

Neither could she.

That's the bit nobody tells you. It's not that she wouldn't tell me what was wrong.

She couldn't.

The feeling was too big and too fast and there wasn't a word anywhere near it. So it came out as slammed doors.
As "you wouldn't understand."
As silence that lasted three days.

I used to think if I just asked the right question, gently enough, at the right moment, she'd be able to answer me.

She couldn't. Not because she didn't want to. Because dysregulation doesn't leave room for vocabulary. The feeling arrives faster than the words do.

So I made a Chaos to Calm wheel.

Not a fancy one. Not a therapy, brochure one.

A big, fridge-sized, magnetic, wipe-clean wheel with feelings on it, properly wide ranging feelings, not just "happy, sad, angry", so that on the mornings when the words won't come, a finger can just point.

It's sat on our fridge for months now.
Some days it's used in silence.
Some days it's the only conversation we manage.
Both count.

If mornings in your house are also missing a shared language for the storm, this is for you and for them.

It won't fix the hard mornings. But it might give you both something to point at instead of something to shout.

Your calm in the chaos,
