Hello, and welcome back to Chaos to Calm…

The podcast for mums supporting a young adult through emotional storms, overwhelm, and everything that comes with it.

I’m Sami, and this space is here to help you feel less alone, more understood, and a little steadier… even when things feel anything but calm.

The last 10 days have been a bit of a shift for me.

Not in a big, obvious way…

But in the small things that actually matter.

I’ve been learning a lot.

But what I’ve realised is…

it’s not about learning more.

It’s about understanding what actually helps.

And I want to share three things that have really landed for me…

and how they apply to you as a mum.

āš“ Simple works better than perfect

I think for a long time…

I believed I needed to say the right thing.

Handle things perfectly.
Get it right.

But the truth is…

when emotions are high…

perfect doesn’t help.

Simple does.

Fewer words.
Calmer tone.
Slower responses.

That’s what actually makes a difference.

And that’s something I wish I’d understood earlier.

āš“ You don’t need all the answers

Another big one for me…

was realising how much pressure we put on ourselves to fix things.

To understand everything.
To know what to do.

But the truth is…

you don’t need all the answers.

You just need to stay steady in the moment.

Because when everything feels chaotic…

what matters most is not what you say.

It’s how you show up.

āš“ You’re not meant to do this alone

This one hit me.

Because for so long…

it felt like I was doing it on my own.

Trying to figure things out.
Second-guessing everything.
Holding it all together.

And what I’ve realised is…

we’re not meant to do this in isolation.

We need:

Understanding
Support
A space where we can say ā€œthis is hardā€

Without feeling judged.

And that’s a big part of why I’ve created what I’ve created.

Because I don’t want you feeling like you have to figure this all out on your own.

So if you’re listening to this…

and you’re in it right now…

Trying to stay calm.
Trying to say the right thing.
Trying to hold everything together.

Just take the pressure off a little.

You don’t need perfect.

You don’t need all the answers.

You just need to stay steady.

And that’s enough.

If you want something practical to help you with that…

there are simple tools inside The Calm Hub on my website.

And The Harbour will be opening soon if you’re ready for more support.

But for now…

just focus on being the steady one.
