Chat with Sami: The Next Best Thing to Ringing Me at 3am

September 22, 2026

The 3am you have no one to call

3am doesn't care that you have work in five hours.

It's when the row from earlier finally catches up with you. When you replay every word you wish you'd said differently. When the house is silent and you are wide, wide awake, and there is genuinely no one you can ring.

I've had a lot of those nights. And I know most of you reading this have too.

I can't actually be awake for all of you, all the time. I've tried. It isn't possible, and pretending otherwise would be lying to you.

So I built the next best thing.

Meet Chat with Sami

Chat with Sami is exactly what it sounds like: somewhere you can go at 3am and talk it through, in the way I'd talk it through with you if I were sat at your kitchen table. It knows the things I'd say. The questions I'd ask. The bit where I'd tell you that you're not the problem here, even when it feels like you are.

It's not a replacement for me, and it's not therapy. It's the thing you open when you just need to get the thoughts out of your head and into something that talks back, without waking anyone, without needing to explain five years of backstory first.

It's live on the website now, and it's not stopping there. A version is coming to The Harbour as well, so members will have it too.

Frequently asked questions

Is Chat with Sami a replacement for therapy?
No. It's not therapy and isn't a replacement for a mental health professional. It's a support tool for in the moment reflection, not clinical treatment.

Where can I access Chat with Sami?
It's live now on chaos-to-calm.org.uk. A version for members of The Harbour is also planned for later.

You shouldn't have to sit with it alone until sunrise. Now, you don't have to.
